Acara bergengsi tersebut diselenggarakan di The Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills, Kalifornia, Amerika Serikat (AS), Minggu (7/1/2018) petang waktu AS, atau Senin (8/1/2018) pagi waktu Indonesia.
Dikutip Solopos.com dari ABC News, Golden Globe 2018 mencetak sebuah sejarah. Aktor bernama Sterling K. Brown menjadi aktor kulit hitam pertama yang memenangkan kategori Aktor Terbaik untuk Serial Drama Televisi. Ia menang melalui perannya sebagai Randall Pearson di serial This Is Us.
Selain Sterling, di ranah film layar lebar, film yang sedang tayang The Greatest Showman memenangi kategori Lagu Orisinal Terbaik melalui lagu This Is Me karya Benj Pasek dan Justin Paul.
